he only talks when he has something useful to say, in that respect i find him a good main character of a story and an excellent player character, since his personality is left at least partially undefined

I find it highly amusing to read all the moronic Master Chief fanboys defending him. That said, I think he would win; if he wasn't bound by the games mechanics, he would probably be able to pull off things Tex couldn't. NOW. I have seen Red vs. Blue, and understand Master Chief's abilities. So you can't say I don't know what I'm talking about.
